Support Officer (APS5), National Property and Office Services Salary: $82,085 - $92,201 (plus 15.4% super) Location: Darwin Permanent position, full-time hours, flexible working arrangements The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is looking to fill the role of Support Officer within the National Property and Offices Services Section , based in Darwin.
About the Role Office Services is a national network of local teams dedicated to providing excellence in corporate support to each ABS office and are part of the National Property & Office Services Section.
We contribute to the ABS purpose by ensuring that the day-to-day operations of each ABS office run smoothly.
We have primary responsibility for ensuring the office is functional, safe, and habitable through management of the office space, assets, and occupants.
Our work allows office staff to concentrate on the core business of statistics in a safe, healthy, secure, and flexible environment.
Responsibilities include: Facilities and asset management Workplace health and safety Support to the Darwin Head of Office Office security oversight Corporate committee secretariat Running lockups for key statistical releases On-boarding, induction, and separation of office staff Being a daily contact point for staff and visitors/contractors.
What we are looking for (selection criteria) To be suitable you should have most or all of the following skills, qualities, and experience: Experience in facilities management, including asset management, WHS, and office security oversight in a government agency or large private enterprise Experience in providing high-quality administrative assistance and corporate support including secretariat duties and correspondence Ability to build and sustain effective work relationships using excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a client-centered focus Ability to work independently or collaboratively using prioritisation, problem-solving, and time management skills.
