Support Coordinator

About the role: Support Coordinators provide direct support to NDIS participants and their families to implement the funded supports in their NDIS plan.
Support Coordinators provide specialist NDIS advice to participants and families, as well as other providers, and link them to any necessary mainstream and community supports.
A key part of the Support Coordination role is to build the participant's capacity (and that of their informal support network) to implement their own NDIS supports in future.
This is a Permanent Full-Time (38 hours per week) opportunity based in Footscray within our Disability Services program.
The position reports to the Coordinator. Key Selection Criteria: To be successful in this role, you will have:
Minimum Diploma in Community Services or Disability etc.
Tertiary qualifications highly regarded.Experience (minimum 2 years) working with people with disabilities.Demonstrated respect for participants as valued members of their community and understanding their goals and aspirations.High level communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated capacity to establish rapport with participants.
Proficient in spoken English.You must have a: Valid and current Driver's Licence;Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);Valid Employee Working with Children Check;Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (for risk assessed / client facing roles).
