HUMPTY DUMPTY COMMUNITY NURSERY POSITION: SUPPLY SUPPORT WORKER
Established over 40 years ago and now operating in the third sector, Humpty Dumpty Community Nursery provides affordable early learning and childcare in partnership with the local authority for up to 24 children on a term time basis between 9am and 3pm. An opportunity has arisen for a supply support worker to work as part of a small team providing early learning and childcare for children aged 2 to 5 years.
PAY: TBC
HOURS: This position is supply to cover staffing when needed.
Key duties and responsibilities: To provide flexible and reliable supply cover when needed by the nursery. This may be at short notice. To provide a stable, friendly, nurturing and trusting environment for the children and their parents, ensuring they are made to feel welcome at the nursery. To work with colleagues to provide and record a variety of stimulating activities which provide children with opportunities to explore, discover and expand their learning. To be responsible for the care and safety of the children during the session, ensuring that the standards of the nursery comply with the current policies, procedures and regulations. To clean, pack away and set out the nursery as required, along with colleagues. To attend training sessions as and when required. Take turns on roles and responsibilities along with the other staff, e.g., preparing snack. PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES: The successful candidate must be able to:
Communicate clearly with adults and children. Work collaboratively with colleagues. Build relationships with families using the service. Work with other professionals who support the provision. Manage workload and time effectively. Have the willingness to learn and develop ICT skills.
