Description Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Supply Chain Planner who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia.
Key Responsibilities: Support the supply planning activities within the bidding or project delivery team, driving on-time delivery (materials and services) aligned with project schedule and critical milestones.Document and assess the external cost planning and forecast (for materials, services, packages, and subcontractors) during the project execution phase.Update the Master Production Schedule for the relevant project for proprietary items.Issue Purchase Requests for all materials, external services, packages, and subcontractors aligned with Project schedule requirements and budgets.Expedite with the vendor to guarantee timely delivery of materials by maintaining consistent communication, monitoring progress, and addressing any potential delays proactively.Monitor and report on supplier performances (including logistic providers) in terms of production, FAT, lead time, shipment, project warehouse management, and compliance with contractual requirements.Process faulty products with suppliers ensuring compliance with export control procedures for intracompany suppliers and follow both SAP and Maximo workflow end to end.Identify and implement project mitigation actions due to the risk of potential misalignments of the supplier performances in comparison with the contractual requirements (delays in material FAT and/or delivery).Review, process, and monitor subcontractor claims based on project milestones and labour hire.Keep up to date monthly forecast tables and project dashboards to allow tracking of key performance metrics and key indicators; highlighting and identifying potential risks.Close Purchase Orders (POs) promptly upon the completion of material delivery and services.Collaborate directly with the contracts manager, project managers, functional leads, procurement buyers, and engineers to ensure all project milestones are supported and achieved.Support the estimation of external costs on assigned bids by working with a cross-functional team of project engineers, bidding manager, work pack leaders, and procurement buyers.Skills & Experience: Bachelor's degree in supply chain, finance, or another related field.3+ years' experience in Supply Chain Management within an engineering/project environment.Proficient MS Office user with advanced Excel skills along with SAP (MM Module) knowledge.Strong knowledge and understanding of requirements planning, inventory management techniques, and general contract knowledge to manage downstream sub-contractors.Ability to be self-directed to work toward corporate and business unit objectives.Experience in cost analysis methodologies and processes for cost controlling/budgeting.Well-honed negotiation skills; internal and external stakeholders.What We Offer: Be part of a Global Company that offers a great work-life balance.Many opportunities to progress your career with training and development available.Salary Continuance Insurance.Thank you for your interest in Hitachi Rail.
