Location Prefer Primary Standard Time +/- 2 (South Africa, UK, Europe) or Australia (WA/Perth). Other regions/ locations acceptable for strong candidate. Summary Position will lead cross-regional category management activities to secure supply, develop innovative and sustainable sourcing strategies, and reduce cost for subset of MRO (Maintain, Repair, and Operate) goods. Candidate must demonstrate drive, enthusiasm, and confidence to jump in and take ownership of category/ projects and lead change management to explore innovative short, medium, and long-term strategies that target the right opportunities to capture value and drive organizational benefits. He/she will have proven experience in procurement/ strategic sourcing and will be able to lead this process through deployment with minimal support. The candidate will possess excellent communication skills necessary to successfully interact with business partners, stakeholders, and suppliers. Roles and Responsibilities Work with key business stakeholders to define the company's category strategy, business requirements, risks, constraints, and costs. Understand supplier capability and business needs through stakeholder interviews, internal data analysis, interpretation of industry studies and other research techniques. Be inquisitive and have an ability to acquire knowledge about topics within procurement scope.Understand and monitor key market and cost drivers to be able to anticipate impact on strategy and business.Establish effective relationships with global stakeholders and core suppliers. Foster a network of stakeholders to gain input into strategy development and to influence speed & adoption of sub-category and/or geographically focused strategy that balances cost optimization with risk management.Utilize manufacturing, chemical, engineering and financial concepts to understand site processes and how procured materials affect site safety, environmental compliance, process efficiency, finished product quality and manufacturing cost.Partner with the Procurement team and other stakeholders to tailor a toolkit that consists of framework Agreements, Standard templates (RFP and Evaluation criteria) and incorporates a Total cost of ownership (TCO) approach as well as supplier KPIs.Enact robust commercial arrangements that protect business interests and meet the business needs.Align and drive execution of category strategy at local/ site level.Ensure clarity, support and coaching is given to local Procurement staff executing the category strategy.Take personal ownership, initiative, and skills to employ and leverage Coupa, CSO and other relevant tools to administer RFx events for responsible category projects and initiatives.Provide best practice/ cross-regional learnings and guidance to local Procurement staff in support of local Coupa events within category scope. Support development of budget pricing forecasts and reporting on savings / project tracking for category initiatives. Ensure savings targets and reporting requirements are timely met.Use available tools and sources (Excel/ SAP/ Coupa, etc) to gather spend, specification, and usage data for relevant projects and initiatives and collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to validate data.Work with category suppliers and relevant Tronox stakeholders to support data improvement/ management efforts.Drive an innovation culture within the supply chain.Foster and support a culture of honesty, integrity and trust.Ensure sustainability is part of tender contract, supplier performance and contract.Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or other related field (preferred).In lieu of degree/ education, sufficient category or practical industrial experience may be acceptable.MBA with focus in Engineering or Supply Chain Management a plus.Certifications from APICS (CSCP, CIRM or CPIM) and/or ISM (C.P.M.) a plusExperience: 3-5+ years of Strategic Sourcing/ MRO experience in an Industrial/ Chemical/ Mining environment. Industrial/ Mining site-based experience preferred.In lieu of Strategic Sourcing experience, sufficient category knowledge/ experience may be acceptable.Demonstrated knowledge/ experience with Pipes, Valves, and Fittings (PVF), Pumps, Filtration, and/or Mineral Separation and key suppliers a strong plus.3-5+ years of experience with global category management and the art of negotiating complex multi-country commercial deals a strong plus.Ability to communicate, influence, and reason effectively with business and technical partners to deliver innovative solutions a strong plus.Strong international experience in terms of sourcing and partnering with stakeholders on category strategy development and execution.Experience working with and persuading operational stakeholders to identify and overcome obstacles to develop generic (non-brand specific) specifications and standards, alternative sources of supply, navigate management of change (MOC) processes, and standardizing across multiple sites and geographies.Experience working with stakeholders and manufacturing partners to manage all aspects of manufacture from design to installation.Proficient in using platforms/tools such as SAP/S4HANA, COUPA and MSOffice productivity applications like Excel PowerPoint and Word.Leading requirement interviews with business partners and prioritizing key focus areas. Financial acumen to determine optimal approaches to issues including project ROI analysis and supplier manufacturing cost estimation.Demonstrated performance in formulating and executing successful category management strategies for direct spend areas such as process chemicals and raw materials. Strong influencing, change management, presentation and negotiations skills are a must.Work effectively in ambiguous situations, strong critical thinking skills and ability to be decisive.Sound knowledge of the chemical manufacturing industry in general is helpful.Travel Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25 percent.Primary Product Portfolio Focus Variable based on assigned categories.
