About The Role:
We are looking for a Supply and Distribution Manager with a positive, can-do attitude to join our growing team in Sydney. The focus of this role is to manage supply and inventory through overseeing the compiling and maintaining of records on the amount, type and value of commodity, to ensure delivery in full on time to customers. With our new warehouse that opened last month in Sydney, our company has been growing very fast and is planning to expand its activities even further within the next few months/years.
Duties:
Review existing distribution policies and plans and propose improvements/amendments to make sure they are all up to date.
Oversee the execution of distribution policies/plans.
Ensure all company's records are kept for all purchases.
Monitor storage strategies of goods.
Negotiate various contracts and rates with overseas agents/shipping lines to find the best price and delivery times requested by our clients.
Prepare and implement plans to maintain required stock levels at minimum cost
Operate recording systems to track all movements of supplies and finished goods, and ensuring re-ordering and re-stocking at optimal times
Oversee the recording of purchase, storage and distribution transactions
Use online systems to track all freight movements such as Cargowise, OneStop, FJT exchange, Marine Traffic etc to be able to update containers departing day and time from origin, transit and expected time of arrival.
Re-ordering with suppliers, when applicable to do so.
Liaise with Shipping Lines, Suppliers, Agents, Quarantine Customs, and Clients. Oversee bookings, purchase orders and sale orders for the 3 PL side of the business.
Be able to meet client's requirements and work under pressure for urgent shipments such as airfreights or same day road deliveries.
The key to this role is strong administration, analytical, and leadership skills, developing key relationships with both internal and external stakeholders while continuing to manage and lead the inventory management functions.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proficient in scoping distribution policies/plans.
Delivery-focused individual with strong administration, analytical, and leadership skills.
Exceptional Communication Skills (verbal and written).
Problem Solving and Attention to Detail.
Ability to lead the inventory management functions.
Familiarity with business management software such as WMS.
Oversee bookings, purchase orders and sale orders for the 3 PL side of the business.
Relevant tertiary level qualifications or at least five (5) years of related employment experience in similar roles.
The Supply and Distribution Manager role will be full-time. The successful candidate will report to the Branch Manager.
