About the Role As a Supply and Demand Planner, you will be responsible for managing the external procurement of goods from both local and international suppliers, overseeing inventory, and procuring finished goods. Your proactive communication with internal stakeholders will ensure optimal safety stock levels, lead times, and successful product launches.
Key Responsibility Inventory Management: Develop and implement inventory control procedures to maintain accurate inventory records.Monitor inventory levels and reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and records.Analyze inventory data to forecast future demand and make informed purchasing decisionsPlanning and Forecasting: Collaborate with sales and operations teams to forecast product demand.Develop inventory replenishment strategies based on demand forecasts and lead times.Plan production schedules and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products.Working closely with international and local suppliers to raise Purchase orders in line with lead timesOptimization and Cost Management: Identify opportunities to optimize inventory levels and reduce carrying costs.Implement cost-effective inventory strategies while ensuring product availability.Monitor and report on key performance metrics related to inventory management.Communication and Coordination: Communicate inventory status, shortages, and surplus to relevant departments.Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams to streamline operations.Resolve inventory-related issues and implement corrective actions as needed.Qualifications: Proven experience in supply and demand forecasting. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in inventory planning and forecasting techniques.Knowledge of inventory control software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.Education: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree may be preferred for senior roles.Certifications (optional but beneficial): Certification in Inventory Management (e.g., CPIM) or Supply Chain Management (e.g., APICS) is advantageous.This job description can be tailored based on specific industry requirements and organizational needs.
