Job Title: SCADA Telecommunication Engineer
Job Overview: The SCADA Telecommunication Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining SCADA communication systems for energy management. This role involves ensuring reliable data transmission between field devices and control centers to support operations and improve efficiency.
Key Responsibilities: System Design and Implementation: Develop and implement SCADA communication architecture, including protocols and technologies for data acquisition and control.Network Management: Monitor and maintain communication networks, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of SCADA systems.Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve communication issues in SCADA systems, providing technical support to operational staff.Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams, IT, and field personnel to integrate SCADA systems with existing infrastructure.Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, network diagrams, and operational procedures.Compliance and Security: Ensure that SCADA communication systems comply with industry standards and security protocols.Project Management: Participate in project planning and execution, ensuring timely delivery of SCADA communication solutions.Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.Experience: Proven experience in SCADA systems, telecommunications, or industrial automation.Technical Skills: Proficiency in SCADA protocols (e.g., DNP3, Modbus), networking (TCP/IP, VPNs), and telecommunications technologies (fiber optics, radio).Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.Preferred Qualifications: Certifications: Relevant certifications in SCADA systems or telecommunications.Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with energy sector operations and regulations in Australia.Working Conditions: This position may require occasional travel to field sites and may involve working outside regular hours during system upgrades or maintenance.
