Supervisor – Water and Tailings Team Lifestyle Roster 4, 5, 5 day shift with on-call duties Be part of safe, positive and close knit team Residential role based in Weipa About the role Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs. We are looking for a Supervisor Water and Tailings to play a critical role in leading a small support operations team to meet safety, production and operational efficiency targets. The focus of the team is the management of process water, potable water,waste water treatment and tailings for the weipa operation. Leading on the frontline is one of the most important jobs in our business and comes with a huge amount of responsibility. We need you to motivate, inspire and keep your people safe and well. Working a 4, 5, 5 day shift roster and reporting to the Superintendent Water and Tailings, you will be: Managing a team of operators/maintainers working on water supply, treatment and tailings infrastructure Leading the team towards achieving an interdependent safety culture by utilizing daily shift starts, safety interactions, human performance and critical risk management tools Maintaining a strong level of control over the water supply, water treatment and tailings infrastructure which includes: Operating multiple tailings and water storage dams Mine processing and potable water supply Drinking water disinfection and treatment systems Multiple Sewage Treatment plants Sewage collection and distribution infrastructure (pumps stations, rising mains and associate networks Develop and implement annual plans and coordinate team activities Fostering a culture of continuous improvement in safe production What you will bring To successfully considered for this role, you will have: Previous leadership experience of a dynamic team in an operational environment Previous experience in Tailings, water delivery and water/waste water treatment plant operations Strong stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills Intermediate computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office suite applications Ability to work in a dynamic environment It will also be beneficial if you have: A Diploma in Front Line Management or similar Qualifications relevant to water supply and water delivery and preferably tailings experience Experience working in a highly regulated operational environment Knowledge and experience using SAP What we offer This position is a residential role in Weipa. The successful applicant will be supported with relocation if coming from outside of Weipa and will be eligible for company housing. This role's shift arrangement is Day work only working a 4,4,5 roster with flexible options in Weipa. The mines are located on traditional land. We work closely with the Traditional Owners to , ensuring that the benefits generated from mining support future generations and that important cultural heritage sites are identified and preserved.
