Council provides water services to approximately 18,000 people, servicing the Singleton township and a number of nearby rural areas and industrial customers. In addition, Council has a considerable raw water system servicing mining and commercial customers.
Council provides sewerage treatment services to approximately 14,700 people in the urban footprint of Singleton community comprising of gravity system, numerous pump stations, a significant area of pressure sewer and a treatment plant.
ADD VALUE - THE ROLE As an integral part of the Water and Sewer Team, the Supervisor - Water and Sewer Treatment is primarily responsible for planning and supervising the work of the Treatment Team, ensuring the delivery of work activities meets safety, cost, quality and time objectives. The Supervisor - Water and Sewer Treatment is responsible for supervising the effective operation of Council's water and sewer treatment plants through monitoring, operating, controlling and optimising of the treatment processes to ensure compliance with Council's Drinking Water Management System, Environment Protection Licence and other regulatory requirements. Planning and scheduling works is an important part of this role. 
The Supervisor - Water and Sewer Treatment is required to work a seven-day a week roster system and is to be available for after-hours emergencies and participate in the operational and on-call rosters for the Treatment Team. 
Your experience and demonstrated ability to effectively lead, motivate, support and develop a team, ensuring they achieve work targets and objectives safely and efficiently will be complemented by a Certificate IV in Water Operations qualification. If you don't hold this qualification, we will support you to obtain this under Council's Learning and Development Protocol. Relevant experience and technical understanding of water and sewer treatment or an equivalent combination of experience, technical understanding and qualifications in the water and sewer treatment industry including operation of treatment plants, asset inspection, water quality testing and data analysis will be advantageous in this role. 
It would be advantageous if you currently held, or can demonstrate a willingness and ability to obtain, through Council provided training (at no cost to you), the following:
NSW Health approved Flouride Operator Certificate (Fluoridation of Public Water Supplies) Class MR or above licence Dangerous Goods Drivers Licence Implement traffic control plans & Traffic controller tickets Confined Space Entry Certificate with Breathing Apparatus Safe Working at Heights certification Dogman (spotters) certification  Operate high pressure jetting water system Working near overhead powerlines AQF3 Chemical Safety Certification WHS Construction Induction Card (White card) This position is offered on a permanent, full-time basis working 76 hours per fortnight on a team-based 9-day fortnight. This position participates in the on-call roster. 
Remuneration package for this position is based on Grade 11 of Council's Salary System Protocol which equates to a base salary of $3491.75 - $3922.67 per fortnight consisting of:
$3,109.16 to $3,497.38 base salary $36.56 Adverse Working Conditions allowance $346.03 to $388.73 superannuation (calculated at 11%) In addition to the base salary, up to $418 per week rostered on-call allowance when rostered, and regular overtime are available. This position has access to a commuter use vehicle.
