Future Generation Joint Venture (FGJV) is the principal contractor for Snowy Hydro's Snowy 2.0, Australia's largest committed renewable energy project. We bring the combined engineering expertise of three companies - Italy's Webuild (formerly Salini Impregilo), Australian-based Clough and US-based Lane Construction.Purpose of the RoleTo plan, organise, lead and control site operations for compliance with the construction programme ensuring consistency in terms of safety, cost, time, quality, environmental, and community targets are achieved.QualificationsMechanical Trade Background or QualificationWhite CardDriving LicenseExperienceExtensive experience in civil or tunnelling construction (5 years).Typically, 5+ years in a supervisory role.Minimum 5 years' experience working on TBM projectsExperience in major infrastructure construction operations of similar scale.Proven ability to operate in a dynamic "live" environment meeting significant program challenges.Experience in Safety, Community and Environmental ManagementExperience in Quality Management, Planning & ResourcingIn depth knowledge of TBMs, conveyors and associated tunnel related equipmentSound knowledge of local WHS standards and regulationsAbility to drive performance, lead and manage teamsAbility to work closely and collaboratively with safety and other departments to control and maintain project safety standardsSound negotiation and problem-solving skillsStrong Initiative and proactive natureKnowledge of spare parts and consignment stock with the capacity to locate and manage partsAbility to perform fault finding and troubleshooting on equipment.Ability to read technical mechanical drawings and schematics to perform fault finding or troubleshoot equipment.Exceptional written and verbal communication skillsAbility to coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperateWell-developed time management skillsAbility to work to deadlines and targets and can prioritise tasks under pressureGood organisational skills with exceptional attention to detailThe ability to work well under pressure, quickly, effectively and positively in a dynamic and demanding environmentStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExceptional knowledge and ability in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPointCore Accountabilities and ResponsibilitiesManaging the daily mechanical running, operation and maintenance of the TBM and associated mechanical equipmentOrganising and planning work for future mechanical operations. Managing planned maintenance for all mechanical equipment on sitePerforming material requisitions for project materials, spare parts and required project equipment.Liaising with Mechanical Manager for all TBM, conveyor and associated equipment assembly/installation/dismantling, commissioning and testing worksCarrying out daily plant inspections, complete and submit maintenance/breakdown reportsLiaising with TBM Electrical team for planning of ongoing and future worksSupervising and providing support to Mechanics on shift in regards to troubleshooting and preventative maintenanceUsing initiative to find potential issues ahead of time with a strong capacity for problem solvingParticipating in the development of safe work method Statements, risk assessments and job hazard analysis for ongoing and future mechanical worksEnforcing site safety at all timesInspecting and auditing the plant to ensure optimum performance is maintained in accordance with Australian StandardsInputting time records for direct reports using project software tools.Attending and performing daily prestart and toolbox meetingsLearning project safety systems and fulfilling KPI inspections on a weekly basis.Responsible for accurate and effective shift handovers
