The Role
This challenging role will provide varied exposure to the Copper Smelter, Lead Smelter, Copper Concentrator, and Zinc Lead Concentrator structural remediation projects. Working a 5/2, 4/3 or 8/6 roster as required and reporting directly to the Superintendent – Structural Projects.
You will be responsible for:
Site safety leadership, participate in incidents investigations, lessons learnt and corrective actions, and improvement opportunities.
Safe execution and implementation of Structural and Civil Remediation Projects within an operational brownfield environment.
Coordination and participation in management of internal and external stakeholders.
Contractor management, participation in project scoping and construction methodology development, procurement, documentation control, and construction/fabrication resourcing and performance reviews.
Assist with project management activities such as financial, variations, planning and scheduling, and management of changes.
Participate in quality assurance/quality control site activities.
Supervision and coordination of multidisciplinary crews and management of the team interfaces with other relevant operations and maintenance departments.
Participate in constructability reviews and risk assessments in a brownfield operating environment.
Compliance with Glencore MIM procedures, governances, and safe operating practices in all aspects of the projects from initiation to execution, closeout and hand back to operations.
Implement improvement strategies identified from workplace audits and inspections.
To succeed in this role you will have:
A strong safety focus and be a role model for safety.
A background in civil/structural construction or engineering, or mechanical maintenance.
Previous supervisory and construction project management experience.
Experience in a smelting, processing, mining or similar heavy industry such as oil and gas or petrochemicals.
The ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and priorities works.
Experience in executing project works including timeline and cost management.
High computer literacy with experience with Microsoft Office suite.
Forward planning, strong contract management skills and safety orientation will see you lead the team to success.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to effectively deploy, monitor and lead the safety performance of your crews.
