The shire is a popular tourism destination with pristine beaches, rainforest retreats and hinterland hideaways.ABOUT THE ROLEPositionCouncil is offering a great opportunity for a suitably qualified, experienced and enthusiastic individual to lead and motivate work teams to complete road construction programs according to time and budget constraints, Council requirements and relevant standards for WHS, environmental and quality systems.
The position will play a key role in motivating staff to deliver outcomes in line with Council's Delivery Program and Operational Plan.To be successful you will bringBehaviour that positively demonstrates Council's values of: creative, accessible, respect, energetic and safe.Certificate III in Civil Construction or equivalent.Demonstrated experience in and sound knowledge and understanding of engineering works and road construction functions/activities.Proven knowledge of the capabilities of a variety of plant items relevant to road construction.Proven experience in the supervision of staff and contractors, including monitoring performance, coordinating worksite activities and training and development.Demonstrated well developed communication skills, both oral and written.Demonstrated digital literacy with experience and competence in computers and devices.The rewardsA salary range of $75,500 to $86,700 per annum (plus 11.5% superannuation) dependent upon skills and experience.
This incorporates the payment of five hours of approved overtime per fortnight according to Council's Annual Salary Agreement.
If you elect to participate in a 4 day week, then your salary will be adjusted to reflect the payment of four hours of approved overtime per fortnight.9 day fortnight working arrangement.
Council is currently trialling a range of flexible working options.
