Our Lihir operation in Mining Department is now recruiting for the position of Supervisor - Projects for FIFO role based at our Lihir Gold Operation (LGO).
Reporting to Senior Supervisor -Roads & Projects, you will be required to supervise the activities of road maintenance operations ensuring the safe and effective implementation of shift mining schedules and achieving mine production targets.
The role will have responsibility to:
Drives and influences proactive safety behaviours within workgroups through Visible leadership.Ensures that all operators on the shift carry out isolations and issue safe work permits for maintenance work in accordance with the site Permit to Work system.Oversee the compliance with relevant policies and procedures on shift by conducting regular monitoring activities of operators.Effectively communicate issues relating to resources and road maintenance in meetings, shift handovers, daily reports and on-the-job across all areas of supervision including contractors.Regularly communicate with maintenance department on road maintenance performance and equipment issues.Actively participate in the development of road maintenance plans.Continuous improvement of road maintenanceIdeally, our preferred applicant will have;
Minimum level of Grade 10 education essential.2-3 years of experience in supervisory level preferably with a world class open cut mine.A sound knowledge of all mining safety and operations areas including drill & blast excavation dewatering and road maintenance.Qualification in Mobile Equipment & Mining Experience.Must have a PNG National Driver's License Class 6.Sound knowledge and experience in operating mine dozer, grader etc.Able to work in confined spaces and heights.Computer proficiency in MS Office suite.Sound planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training.Tok Pisin is an advantage.The Requirements This opportunity is open to PNG citizens who are currently employed by NewmontMust be available for FIFO to LihirAbility to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment.Must have proof of a completed Police Clearance within the last six months.Our Commitment to You Newmont is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
