Western Plains is a multi-purpose facility that adapts to the evolving needs of Corrections Victoria.
It features purpose-built modern amenities including medical wards, a cultural centre and vocational training facilities.
It also utilises cutting-edge technology to keep the facility secure, allowing staff to focus on supporting the rehabilitation of people in custody.
Western Plains will open mid-2025 and Corrections Victoria are now recruiting key roles to help shape the future operations of the facility.
About the role This role is part of Offender Services, a multidisciplinary team which works collaboratively to develop and deliver a range of programs and services for people in our care.
The Supervisor, Offender Services assists in the development of service models, policies, procedures and evaluations related to the delivery of effective offender programs.
The role oversees procurement and provides advice to management on effective strategies to address prisoner needs.
With responsibility for daily coordination of Offender Services programs, you will lead team oversight of contractors and manage the efficient and effective delivery of day-to-day services.
You will also assist with the welfare and diverse needs of people in care, adopting trauma-informed and therapeutic practices and create a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to service delivery.
The position may require direct contact with the people in custody at Western Plains and may require you to work flexible hours.
About you To be successful in this role, you will: * Possess demonstrated experience in managing transition and reintegration programs and services to diverse and special prisoner cohorts.
* Have the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and a range of external stakeholders.
* Have prior experience managing resources including the allocation of staff, workloads and team-based responsibilities.
The following is also desirable: - * A relevant tertiary qualification or proven track record in the delivery and coordination of reintegration and rehabilitation programs * An understanding of operational procedures within a correctional services environment.
