The Lighting Supervisor participates as a leader and hands-on contributor through all stages of Pre and Post Production.Every shot that leaves the Lighting department for approval on a show will first be scrutinized and approved by the Lighting Supervisor.
They will deliver a myriad of shots to a strict deadline as well as foresee and pre-empt any problems along the way.This is an exciting and challenging role for you to be part of a senior creative team.
It requires you to help the Lighting team balance their creative desires with the requirements of the production.
You possess a good eye, solid lighting experience, and effective communication skills.
You have flair in interpreting decisions and communicating them to your lighting crew.You champion diversity, are deliberate in inclusiveness and culturally competent.MPC Film has a legacy which includes an Academy Award for Visual Effects, we set the creative bar high and work hard to deliver creative excellence alongside building inclusion and diversity into the fabric of our studio.The Lighting Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Lighting Leads and Artists working on a specific show.Work with the R&D department and HOD to identify any additions or modifications to our existing toolset that will be required to complete the effects mentioned above to a high standard and on schedule.Identify Lead lighters on the show and delegate responsibility as appropriate.Set up and participate in dailies and desk rounds, providing feedback and guidance to Lighting Artists on the show.Act as the first line of quality control for the Lighting work on your sequences.Report on the progress of the Lighting work on the show to the Head of Department.Technically and creatively define and maintain consistent shot quality on your show.Provide feedback for artists at daily progress reviews.Support the lighting and rendering pipeline for shots and sequences.Mentor Leads on the lighting team.Monitor daily progress of your team together with Leads.QualificationsExperience:At least 7 years of production lighting experience and at least 2 years Lead experience.Thorough understanding of techniques and technologies related to CG rendering and compositing.Excellent communication skills.Proven technical and creative ability in a large feature-film VFX production environment.Strong problem-solving skills.Excellent understanding of shading, lighting and rendering terminology.Excellent understanding of production pipelines.Excellent knowledge of PRMan or similar production renderer.Excellent knowledge of node-based compositing software.Excellent understanding of linux/unix-based operating systems.Python and MEL scripting experience an advantage.Additional InformationAttributes:Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Enthusiasm to teach new skills and the ability to adapt quickly.Ability to manage a time-sensitive workload in an organized manner with a sense of urgency.Excellent creative ability and flair.Exceptional attention to detail.Excellent sense of team dynamics and a positive morale generating style.Excellent ability to communicate with a range of people at all department levels.Inclusive and culturally aware and competent.#J-18808-Ljbffr
