About the opportunityDue to significant growth in Cairns and Far North Queensland, we are looking for an experienced Supervisor to join the team and play a key role in the successful delivery of a highway construction project, critical to the local transport network.
About the roleAs Supervisor you will oversee and manage the construction process on site, coordinating and directing the activities of workers, subcontractors and suppliers.
You will play a key role in ensuring that the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Responsibilities of the role includeOversee and manage the construction process, including coordinating and directing workers, subcontractors, and suppliersEnsure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standardsEnforce safety regulations and building codes, and conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards or violationsManage and resolve conflicts between parties involved in the projectMaintain accurate records of progress, costs, and quality control measuresCommunicate effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project expectations are metIdentify and address any issues or problems that arise during the construction processEnsure all works are carried out in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and permitsManage the allocation of resources, including labour, materials, and equipmentPerform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems, reporting and procedureTo be successful in this key role, you must haveExperience delivering highways / roads infrastructure projects in AustraliaExperience working for a tier one contractor is advantageousDemonstrated experience as a Supervisor, managing multiple subcontractors and direct employeesProficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and technical documentsExcellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a teamStrong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilitiesAble to work and integrate into a teamStrong focus on health and safetyAs part of the team, you help us deliver on our promise to transform livesYour success is reflected in ours, so we're committed to being an employer of choice.
