The Project UGL and CPB Contractors have been awarded the early works contract to support Powerlink's delivery of CopperString 2032. This $5 billion iconic project will initially be approximately 840 kilometres of new transmission line running from just south of Townsville to Mount Isa that will connect Queensland's North West Minerals Province to the national electricity grid. The project scope includes:
500 kilovolt (kV) transmission line from just south of Townsville to Hughenden 330kV transmission line from Hughenden to Cloncurry 220kV transmission line from Cloncurry to Mount Isa, up to six new substation sites. This exciting project will commence construction in 2024 and we are currently looking for an experienced Superintendent (Transmission Lines) to join the team on the Copperstring Project.
What will a day in this role look like: Early planning with local subcontractors and landowners. Overall management of Transmission staff and contractors. Manage anticipated release dates for access to work location and design information. Ability to coach, lead and manage a team and continue to team build. Facilitate any innovation concepts that can improve the project for all stakeholders. Connect with local communities and suppliers to maximise local business involvement in the project. Managing the project teams to accurately and timely deliver projects according to schedule, budget and scope. Overseeing the quality control throughout the project life cycle and ensuring we meet the projects objectives and deliverables. Focusing on acquiring resources and coordinating efforts of team members, ensuring that our clients' needs are delivered in a safe, timely and efficient manner whilst ensuring a safe and effective operation of the project through sound communication, promotion of Safety and Quality Assurance, technical assistance and sound business practices such as commercial, compliance, procurement, human resources and financials. What are we looking for you to bring to the team: Minimum 15 years' Transmission Line construction experience, with minimum 2 years as a superintendent. Managed self and resources to deliver work in excess of $200M. Ensuring right people with right tools are in place to manage logistics and deliver SWTC compliance (within accountability). Demonstrated commercial experience includes planning up to 3 months ahead and monitoring of cost and time of resources providing input to monthly forecasting (on project). Manage others in conducting SHEQ process and procedures and ensure SHEQ compliance (on project). Primary Location Australia-QLD-Brisbane CBD & Inner Suburbs
