About this part of our organisation:
Our Zinc Assets in Australia include multiple polymetallic (Zn, Cu, Pb, Ag) & geographically dispersed operations, including underground and open pit mines, processing plants, multiple concentrators, smelters, and a refinery plus port facilities and support structures.
Mount Isa is home to the majority of our assets in Australia and this role is based residentially in Mount Isa.

About your potential new position:
As the Superintendent – Tailings Operations, you will be part of the Processing department and report directly to the Manager – Surface Operations, overseeing a multi-disciplined team of approximately seventy personnel and contractors to ensure our tailings facilities (including crushing and mobile fleet) comply to standards, are fit for purpose, and continue to meet future needs.
You will be required to find a balance as in many ways, this is a service role which supports the value chain from mining to processing, yet you have safety, environmental, regulatory and compliance and budget parameters to control.

Some of your responsibilities will include: Ensuring a culture of safety throughout your team and contractors.
Execution of operational strategies in accordance with our long-term and short-term plans.
Implementing measures to ensure the highest standard of Tailings Dam Operations and Management.
Implementing innovation and continuous improvement within the department.
Overseeing the financial performance of your area.
Building and operating effective teams in the heavy fleet industries.
What we expect about you: Experience in coordinating heavy fleet operations safely, sustainably and within financial parameters.
You are a visible safety example to your team.
Effective leadership and team management skills.
Ability to work and adapt to growth and change.
Commitment to responsible practices and sustainable development.
Experience with any of the following areas would be desirable: tailing dams operations, maintenance and management of crushing and screening, civil construction or production in mining.
