The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced geological field supervisor with outstanding leadership skills to join our Geology team at Sunrise Dam as a Superintendent: Geological Services. This is a permanent position based on a 4/3 roster or variant thereof with flights out to Perth and/or Kalgoorlie.
Accountable to the Geology Manager, you will manage a large team of Geological Technicians which provide support to the exploration and mine geology work groups.
Role Purpose:
The ideal candidate will possess outstanding technical knowledge in drilling and field logistics, core yard management as well as superior management and leadership skills to provide the team with the coaching and mentoring required to achieve industry leading field practices.
Accountabilities:
Continue to develop and promote safe work practices through risk identification and management. Contribute to and lead the department safety culture and initiatives in the exploration team. Enhance and maintain a work culture that is reflective of AngloGold Ashanti's values. Develop and deliver the annual budget for the Geological Services team. Manage a large team of Geology Technicians to ensure that the UG, exploration and open-pit workflow is achieved in line with budget expectations. Build organisational capability within the Geological Services team with the assistance of the direct reports. Establish and maintain processes required for efficient and safe management of the coreyard and field-based exploration activities. Manage the processes, equipment and standards required to achieve efficiency and effectiveness for facilities management. Continuously improve geological field processes to effectively support the achievement of the Department's budget. About you:

Minimum 10 years mining experience in coordinating and supervisory roles. Strong track record of people management and leadership practices. Prior experience in building budgets and delivering to budget. Comprehensive planning and organisation skills. Extensive experience in core yard management. Solid working experience with regional and near-mine exploration activities. Manual driver's licence and 4WD capable. Software skills: Office suite, SAP. A National Police Clearance.
