Superintendent - Fixed Plant Maintenance Mining - Engineering & Maintenance (Mining, Resources & Energy)
Reporting to the Head of operations, the Superintendent Maintenance is responsible for the overall maintenance management of the Ravenswood Gold Plant.
This is a key role in maximising performance of the fixed plant and driving change through safety leadership, management of maintenance personnel and implementation of effective maintenance strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Demonstrate stewardship in safety and health by leading safety plans and ensuring compliance with all legislative requirements.
Promote a safe culture by actively leading and driving hazard reporting, field leadership activity as well as continuous improvement.
Lead and contribute to incident investigations, risk management, and management of change processes.
Carry out fixed plant maintenance plans, shutdown execution, operational readiness and commissioning of new projects.
Oversee and support compliance as well as reporting for preventive maintenance, corrective planned work, unscheduled repairs, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Deliver budget asset availabilities and manage non-compliance effectively through operational performance and improvement project management systems to maximise plant runtime.
Manage departmental costs, providing inputs into CAPEX and OPEX maintenance budgeting and forecasting to ensure positive financial performance.
Effectively manage the maintenance of ancillary services critical to the operation of the fixed plant and the community as required.
Ensure ongoing training and development of maintenance personnel to attain key competencies and meet legislative requirements.
Guide the development of effective maintenance strategies to address performance gaps using the operational management system and collaborate with other fixed plant functions to improve productivity.
Coach and mentor the fixed plant maintenance team, using knowledge and expertise to review work practices, as well as actively manage employee performance and development.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to support all functions of the fixed plant operations department.
Assist the Head of Operations to drive change by implementing defined accountabilities and setting critical tasks for the fixed plant maintenance team.
Qualifications and Skills:
Extensive frontline experience in a plant maintenance leadership role, with at least 5 years in a superintendent or supervisor level role.
A trade qualification in mechanical maintenance or other related discipline within a processing plant environment or heavy industry.
Experience with and competency in using Microsoft Office and maintenance related systems such as SAP or Pronto.
Ability to collaborate, engage, influence outcomes and communicate internally as well as across functional disciplines at multiple levels to support safety and production.
Strong, hands-on work ethic, coupled with a sense of urgency and ability to get things done in an emerging, high-growth company.
Highly autonomous, organized, self-starting and proactive team player with ability to multi-task and lead effectively.
Demonstrated safety leadership and the confidence to lead by example to maintain a high profile in the promotion of a safe working environment.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and navigate planned and unplanned maintenance to foster operational discipline in the execution of maintenance activities.
Possess confident ability to organise and lead diverse teams effectively.
Proven experience in leading change and possession of strong interpersonal skills is highly desirable.
Have previous and proven experience as a people leader, with the ability to influence and shape a positive team culture.
