The role will not only challenge your skills but also be extremely rewarding. Role Overview – Superintendent Electrical, Fixed Plant MaintenanceBarrick Gold's Porgera Operations is seeking a talented and experienced individual to join our team as a Superintendent - Electrical in the Fixed Plant Maintenance department. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our gold mining operations.The Roles Key Responsibilities:Lead and oversee the electrical maintenance activities within the fixed plant, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company standards.Oversee the maintenance activities for the plant's equipment which includes Crushers, mills, pumps, and conveyors.Manage a team of electrical technicians and tradespeople, providing guidance, coaching, and support to optimize performance and efficiency.Develop and implement maintenance strategies to maximize equipment uptime and minimize downtime, focusing on preventative and predictive maintenance techniques.Coordinate with the operations and engineering teams to schedule and prioritize maintenance activities, minimizing disruptions to production.Conduct regular inspections and audits of electrical systems and equipment to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.Troubleshoot electrical faults and issues, utilizing diagnostic tools and techniques to ensure timely resolution.Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations, including maintaining accurate records and documentation.The ideal candidate will have:An electrical trade, a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical maintenance within the mining or heavy industrial sector, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.Strong knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and controls commonly used in fixed plant operations.Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve results.Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with a focus on root cause analysis and continuous improvement.Proficiency in relevant software and tools for maintenance planning, scheduling, and documentation.Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in electrical maintenance, with a commitment to creating a safe work environment.Why Barrick Gold:Pioneering Opportunity: You will be based at the Porgera site.
