The Arts, Heritage and Libraries branch role is to enrich the lives of residents and visitors by providing arts and cultural leadership, opportunities, knowledge, development, connections, and experience.
Contribute to the high-quality customer service and effective delivery of day-to-day Heritage Library operations.
Also, guide the development and implementation of a frontline service delivery model that enhances customer experience with continued delivery of quality services, and improved community access to information, services, technology, networks, and resources relevant to community needs.
Primarily, you will:
Deliver day-to-day operations of the Heritage Library services under the guidance of the Heritage Library Supervisor providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
Assist in the provision of reference and information services in relation to Heritage Library resources including on-line information retrieval, inter-library loans and instruction on the use of library resources, technology and equipment.
Investigate, identify and recommend emerging technologies and alternative approaches (emerging trends) to the storage, and access of Heritage Library resources.
Collaborate with staff to assist with the planning and delivery of programs, promotion, and outreach as required to increase awareness of the Heritage Library's services to external and internal customers.
Assist with the presentation of the online and physical Heritage Collection that is appealing and engaging to the community.
Assist with the development, maintenance and presentation of the Heritage Library's Collection in accordance with contemporary library practice and the Collection Management Statement.
About you
The Heritage Library Officer provides excellent customer service to internal council departments and the local community.
The position involves the creation and delivery of highly engaging programs to both adults and young people with a passion for presenting local studies content in different formats.
As a professional in this field, you will be a flexible and tech-savvy information professional in implementing best practice measures in preservation, cataloguing and archiving collections.
You will hold a Positive Notice for Child Related Employment (Blue Card).

Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending.
As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
