About the Role The Project Delivery Branch provides project management services to clients and customers across the organisation, including consultation, coordination, and management of the delivery of capital works projects through engagement of internal and external service providers ensuring timely, best value program delivery.
The Senior Project Manager manages various priority capital works projects of differing complexity for a range of internal clients to deliver positive and sustainable outcomes to the Sunshine Coast Council region.
Application of strong program and project management discipline, technique, and skill for optimal delivery results. Procurement management and documentation including quote and tender scopes, briefs, and specifications in accordance with organisational policy. Lead internal and external project teams through all phases of project delivery including development of technical scopes and briefs, and the management of consultants contracted to Council. Develop and implement effective communication tools including project charters, project management, and communication plans to ensure all client requirements are considered and all stakeholders are kept well informed. About you As a Senior Project Manager in the Civil Projects Team, you will have a comprehensive understanding of a large range of civil infrastructure elements, particularly relevant to local governments including structures, transport, waste, environmental, earthworks, stormwater, electrical, and hydraulic.
You will possess substantial program and project management experience in project development, management, economic analysis, financial management, and the coordination and delivery of projects requiring high levels of consultation, integration, and negotiation to achieve successful outcomes.
As the Senior Project Manager, you will have demonstrated strong leadership skills and experience to lead and empower others, develop and coach team members and foster a workplace culture consistent with Council's corporate values, with advanced interpersonal and communication skills.
As a requirement of this role, you will possess tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Planning, or other similar qualifications relevant to the field and substantial relevant experience.
You will also possess a Queensland White Card/Construction Industry Induction Card (CPCCWHS1001 - Prepare To Work Safely In The Construction Industry).
