The Office of Public Prosecutions invite applications from experienced and suitably qualified criminal lawyers, and those legal professionals who are eligible for admission as a barrister or solicitor of the High Court or of a Supreme Court of a State or Territory of Australia.
The Office has a number of immediate vacancies at the P2 level and maintains a talent pool of successful applicants to select from for future appointments.
These are challenging yet rewarding roles, your comprehensive knowledge of and experience in criminal law, practice and procedure and your advocacy and advanced communication skills will ensure the delivery of a professional criminal prosecution service to the people of the Northern Territory.

Professional level 2 
Your primary objective will be to provide the people of the Northern Territory of Australia with an independent and professional criminal prosecution service.
Key duties: Provide quality legal advice to DPP and to both internal and external stakeholders relating to the summary prosecution cases, conduct and appear in criminal proceedings including sentences and breaches in the Supreme Court, and committal and summary hearings in the Local Court and Youth Court.
Maintain carriage of complex criminal prosecutions, and instruct in Supreme Court trials.
Essential Criteria: Admitted or eligible for admission as a barrister or solicitor of the High Court of a State or Territory of Australia, high level communication and advocacy skills, knowledge of and experience in criminal law, practice and procedure including Uniformed Evidence Law.
Good organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure to tight and changeable deadlines.
