What You'll Be DoingAs a Mechanical Fitter, your daily responsibilities will include:
Mechanical repair of LV, MV, and HV electrical rotating machinery.Working on high-speed rotating equipment, especially steam and gas turbines.Replacing or repairing worn or defective mechanical assemblies like shafts, gears, seals, impellers, fans, and bearing fits.Conducting mechanical repairs on shafts, journals, and housings.Correctly requisitioning items from stores/purchasing, as approved by your Supervisor.Cleaning electromechanical equipment assemblies using various methods (parts washers, steamers, caustic tanks, grit blasters, etc.
