Substation Design and Engineering team , where you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of primary and secondary electrical designs and support for a range of high voltage substation projects in Regional Queensland (Ergon Energy Network).Your day to day will offer a unique and interesting variety of challenges, where you will predominately utilise AutoCAD to produce design drawings for assigned projects.
You will also provide technical advice and support during construction, perform calculations, estimation checking and contribute to the development of peers.This is a highly collaborative role; you will continuously liaise with other key design disciplines such as Civil and Structural, SCADA, Telecommunications, Protection, Distribution Lines and Metering to produce a fully integrated design product.You will be able to grow and develop your skills and expertise as you are exposed to unique projects of varying complexities, all with the guidance of a highly experienced, supportive and motivated team of engineers and paraprofessionals.About you:With your background in electrical systems design and strong electrical drawing skills, you are highly organised, a great communicator and have strong interpersonal skills.
You also have:An Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent), or Advanced Diploma of Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) supported by a relevant technical or trade qualification.Knowledge of design principles and practices of indoor and outdoor substation primary plant design and/or secondary systems designs.Experience in the use of
AutoCAD
to produce detailed design drawings and models for primary and/or secondary systems associated with substations.Knowledge and experience in understanding estimation systems and applications, engineering calculations and analysis.Knowledge of Safe Design principles and Safety Requirements relating to the design of high voltage substations and associated plant & equipment.Ability to investigate and problem solve complex technical issues, making effective decisions through the application of sound judgement, and presenting findings/recommendations in technical reports or presentations.What matters most to us is our values: We're Safe – We Belong - We Grow - We Deliver.
