What is the focus of the role? Manage repair of International subsea cables including coordinating the cable repair ship, the cable station personnel, and the NOC personnel. Oversees entire marine operation from planning to issuing fault call out notice at pre-operation stage, to managing repair during operation in most time-cost efficient manner, to maintaining updated O&M records as well as reviewing replenishment of wet spares post operation.
What you'll do The Repair Coordinator is responsible for the proactive and reactive maintenance of the Subsea communication cables under Telstra's management.The role includes planning and controlling marine repairs including fault location determination, review of Method Of Procedure by repair ship operator, coordinator of cable station and ship operations during a repair, and assessment of test results including COTDR.Other roles include coordinating spares at the cable depot with recommendations for replenishment of cable, joint kits, etc. after repairs.Provide support to Engineering projects.About You Appropriate Technical Certification and/or Engineering qualifications.Demonstrated experience with marine operations and maintenance.Ability to meet physical and functional certification for Telstra onboard ship representation.Experience in co-ordination of cable repair ships, cable stations and NOC during cable or repeater repairs.You will also have interest and aptitude with subsea cable Operation and Maintenance: Digital Coherent Optical Technology.COTDR (Coherent Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) Testing and Interpretation.TDR (Time Domain Reflectometer) Testing and Interpretation.Assessing MOP's (Method of Procedure) prepared by ship operators for marine operations.Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM).If you are looking to take the next step in your career, we want to hear from you!
