Sub-Program Leader: As Sub-Program Leader, you will be taking on a key role withinthe Entomology Program, Crop Sciences Research Division within theSouth Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI). Theteam is focused on research into insects and pests relevant toprimary industries across the state.
In this role, you will be a key member of the SARDI leadershipteam and play an integral leadership role in the Entomology Programtaking responsibility for managing current and future programs.
Your new role will involve: Leadership of state and national research programs,managing program key milestones, deadlines and researchactivities.Seeking and responding to RD&E funding opportunitiesrelevant to SARDI and state priorities.Writing and developing grant proposals for future fundedresearch programs.Communicating research program findings to growers andindustry representatives.Financial management and report writing associated with theresearch program, as well as hands-on research activities.To be successful you will need: PhD in an appropriate technical discipline (entomology,agriculture, biology).Extensive expertise in invertebrate biology, ecology,taxonomy, and integrated pest management.Knowledge of the broad direction, culture and pestchallenges facing Australian primary industriesThe successful applicant for this position will have atrack record in developing proposals and successful acquisitionof grant funding for research projects.This is a leadership position and will require applicantswith experience in coaching and mentorship, as well as theability to take a lead on all areas of health, safety and thewellbeing of the team.Proven research and communication skills.
