Sub-Program Leader: As Sub-Program Leader, you will be taking on a key role within the Entomology Program, Crop Sciences Research Division within the South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI). The team is focused on research into insects and pests relevant to primary industries across the state. In this role, you will be a key member of the SARDI leadership team and play an integral leadership role in the Entomology Program taking responsibility for managing current and future programs. Your new role will involve: Leadership of state and national research programs, managing program key milestones, deadlines and research activities. Seeking and responding to RD&E funding opportunities relevant to SARDI and state priorities. Writing and developing grant proposals for future funded research programs. Communicating research program findings to growers and industry representatives. Financial management and report writing associated with the research program, as well as hands-on research activities. To be successful you will need: PhD in an appropriate technical discipline (entomology, agriculture, biology). Extensive expertise in invertebrate biology, ecology, taxonomy, and integrated pest management. Knowledge of the broad direction, culture and pest challenges facing Australian primary industries The successful applicant for this position will have a track record in developing proposals and successful acquisition of grant funding for research projects. This is a leadership position and will require applicants with experience in coaching and mentorship, as well as the ability to take a lead on all areas of health, safety and the wellbeing of the team. Proven research and communication skills. This position will require the ability to communicate to various key stakeholders both from industry and academia.
