Source: uWorkin JOB DESCRIPTION Be part of a team responsible for delivering best practice youth mentoring to over 2,000 at risk young people across Australia Casual opportunity, 10 hours per week (working on Mondays and Tuesdays) Sunshine Coast (Maroochydore and Sunshine Beach) We exist to help young people. We do one thing, and we do it really well – youth mentoring.
Our best-practice program is proven to make positive and sustained change. Mentoring empowers young people to be resilient, connected and hopeful for the future. We match trained and trusted volunteers with teenagers who would benefit most from an independent, caring adult who is there to listen and show up just for them.
Our early intervention youth mentoring program is currently in over 180 high schools across Australia and available online. This translates to over 2,000 young people matched with a qualified mentor each year.

About the Role: This is a casual position for 10 hours a week, leading two programs in the Sunshine Coast (Maroochydore and Sunshine Beach).
Our Program Counsellors (PCs) are responsible for the successful coordination, implementation, delivery, and completion of Raise mentoring programs at one or more allocated high schools, ensuring mentors and mentees have a positive experience and the program achieves successful outcomes.
Reporting to the Program Manager, you will be responsible for group facilitation, providing professional support to mentors and mentees, supervision of mentors and mentees, key stakeholder communication and management, and quality reporting.
About You We are looking for someone who:
Has a genuine passion for supporting young people and commitment to Raise's purpose, intent and aspiration Has relevant qualifications in counselling, youth work, social work, psychology, or diploma qualifications in one of these fields, with at least two years of relevant work experience Is inspired by the idea of working in a rapidly evolving non-profit organisation with a robust growth vision Has experience with supporting, counselling, and engaging young people Experience facilitating programs, managing groups, and/or delivering training Has a comprehensive understanding of mandatory reporting requirements for working with young people Has excellent administrative and organisation skills, strong written and verbal communication abilities and excellent IT skills, including Office365 and cloud-based document sharing (OneDrive or Google Drive) Has a collaborative, inclusive and supportive working style and displays a commitment to transparent, open, authentic communication Has the ability to work independently, show initiative and work in a team environment Is warm, polite, friendly, empathetic, compassionate, and caring An accommodating style and an enthusiastic, "can do" attitude Is reliable, punctual, committed and dedicated Is trustworthy, shows honesty and integrity and leads by example Demonstrates a high level of respect for privacy and confidentiality Has experience as a Raise Mentor (ideal) A willingness to undergo the Raise selection process including appropriate youth safety and national crime checks Our Values: At Raise, we have six values that express our shared understanding of what we believe, how we would like others to see our personality, what we aspire to as an organisation, and how we aim to behave:
