Chairo Christian School is a non-denominational Christian school with 1,800 Kinder to Year 12 students attending five picturesque campuses in West and South Gippsland, the Latrobe Valley and the south-eastern outskirts of Melbourne.
Our mission is to provide excellence in Christ-centred education in partnership with families within a caring Christian community. In doing this, we aim to prepare students thoroughly for further study, careers, service and life in general.
We are currently seeking to appoint one or more Student Wellbeing Team Members to commence in Term 1 next year. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a caring Christian environment and provide important assistance to the Chairo community in delivering high quality care and Christian education to our students.
Some key responsibilities will include the following:
Providing confidential pastoral care and guidance to students
Assisting staff members with issues surrounding student behaviour, learning and socialisation within the school
Building a positive, friendly rapport with relevant stakeholders such as parents, caregivers and other staff members
Playing an active and distinctive role in the development of school wellbeing policies and processes
The successful candidates will possess the following qualifications, attributes and experience:
Training and/or experience in pastoral care, counselling or chaplaincy
Training in mental health (or willingness to obtain)
Training and/or experience in education (desirable)
Ability to build relationships
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to meet the current requirements of the National School Chaplaincy Programme
Successful applicants will need to be in agreement with and model Chairo's Statement of Faith.
