Student Wellbeing Team Members Large multi-campus Christian school Part-time (1 to 4 days per week) Ongoing positions Drouin, Drouin East, Traralgon or Pakenham locations
Chairo Christian School is a non-denominational Christian school with 1,800 Kinder to Year 12 students attending five picturesque campuses in West and South Gippsland, the Latrobe Valley and the south-eastern outskirts of Melbourne.
Our mission is to provide excellence in Christ-centred education in partnership with families within a caring Christian community. In doing this, we aim to prepare students thoroughly for further study, careers, service and life in general.
We are currently seeking to appoint one or more Student Wellbeing Team Members to commence in Term 1 next year. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a caring Christian environment and provide important assistance to the Chairo community in delivering high quality care and Christian education to our students.
Key Responsibilities:Providing confidential pastoral care and guidance to studentsAssisting staff members with issues surrounding student behaviour, learning and socialisation within the schoolBuilding a positive, friendly rapport with relevant stakeholders such as parents, caregivers and other staff membersPlaying an active and distinctive role in the development of school wellbeing policies and processesQualifications and Attributes:Training and/or experience in pastoral care, counselling or chaplaincyTraining in mental health (or willingness to obtain)Training and/or experience in education (desirable)Ability to build relationshipsAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesAbility to meet the current requirements of the National School Chaplaincy ProgrammeSuccessful applicants will need to be in agreement with and model Chairo's Statement of Faith.
