THE ROLE We are seeking to appoint appropriately qualified Student Wellbeing Officers to numerous ongoing, full-time and/or part-time positions across the College, commencing Term 1 – 2025.
Led by the Director of Wellbeing, the successful candidates will join our Student Wellbeing team to support a positive wellbeing culture at the College. This involves supporting students requiring assistance with their wellbeing needs on a day-to-day basis, encouraging engagement, providing interventions and referrals, working with external professionals and student support groups, liaising with parents/guardians and providing programs to student groups.
The Student Wellbeing Officer is focused on student welfare and creating a source of support for students so that they may form meaningful and engaging relationships with the school and other staff. Your days will be varied, always active and working with purpose to support the overall wellbeing of the College's students.
WHAT YOU BRING We are looking for heartfelt, genuine, adaptable Student Wellbeing Officers to provide support to students and families within our community.
You will be working collaboratively as part of a team to achieve best outcomes for all involved and have:
A relevant tertiary qualification relating to wellbeing that may include qualification(s) in mental health, counselling, social work, psychology, teaching, youth work etc. Demonstrated prior experience working with children and young people and the ability to build rapport and trust. Strong knowledge of current evidence-based practices in relation to behaviour, psychological and wellbeing theories and practices, policies and current legislations relevant to children and young people. Well-developed communication, interpersonal, advocacy and conflict resolution skills to liaise with chaplains, teaching staff, management, parents and external providers. Proven innovative and imaginative problem-solving skills. A thorough understanding of and commitment to Child Safe frameworks and regulations. WHAT WE OFFER A competitive salary.
