All applicants must comply with current legislative Child Protection requirements by including your current Working with Children Check number & expiry date with your application for employment.Existing staff should apply through the Internal Positions Vacant Page.Student Wellbeing Officer - St Francis Xavier Primary School, WoolgoolgaPart time temporary position commencing 30 January 2024 until 26 January 2028This position is dependent upon NSWP funding.The role of the Student Wellbeing Officer is to support the emotional well-being of students. The National School Wellbeing Program supports schools to provide a school-based role that is recognised as part of the whole school approach to pastoral care.Applicants must:hold a valid NSW Working with Children Checkhold a minimum qualification or qualifications, equivalent to or higher than, a Certificate IV as determined by the States, and this qualification or qualifications must include competencies in both:• mental health and making appropriate referrals; and• providing pastoral care, and/or working with youthPersons holding a formal qualification (Certificate IV or above) in a related field (e.g., Theology, Nursing, Policing, etc.) which includes components dealing with mental health and client referrals are deemed to meet the minimum qualifications.Teachers, social workers, counsellors, or psychologists in training are also deemed to meet the minimum qualifications.Applicants with a teaching degree meet the qualifications but will not be remunerated as a teacher.Applicants are required to complete the professional learning package in responding to and preventing cyberbullying delivered by the Office of the eSafety Commissioner within three months of commencing NSWP services and refresh this professional learning at least once every two and a half years.Criteria:Experience in providing support to children and/or young people to address social and emotional needsAbility to support schools and teachers in identifying and developing educational, social, and emotional programs to support children and young people who are vulnerable or at riskAbility to liaise with community service organisationsWell-developed organisational and time management skills with the capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary pastoral care teamHave a demonstrated commitment to personal faith practiceYour application should address the above criteria including the nomination of two (2) referees including a Parish Priest, Priest, or Minister.Applications close: 3.00pm Wednesday, 30 October 2024Diocese of Lismore Catholic Schools Limited is committed to creating Child Safe Schools.Child protection legislation requires preferred applicants to be subject to employment screening.An Equal Opportunity Employer.#J-18808-Ljbffr
