We are seeking a dedicated Learning Enrichment and Middle School Coordinator who will lead initiatives in student wellbeing, behaviour management, and engagement while embracing our school's values and guiding principles.
About the Role: The Student Wellbeing (support) & Learning Enrichment Coordinatorwill play a pivotal role in promoting a positive and inclusive school culture. You will work closely with the leadership team, staff, students, and parents to develop programs, implement behaviour strategies, and ensure that our school community aligns with our values and expectations. You will also be a driving force in fostering an environment that supports self-discipline, independence, and responsibility in students.
This is a full time role with a, negotiable, 0.4FTE teaching load.
Key Responsibilities: Reinforcing School Values and Principles: Develop and implement programs that promote the school's values and principles, focusing on economic independence and preparing students to join the adult community. Foster a positive school culture that recognises and celebrates student achievements. Collaborate with the leadership team to provide training to staff, parents, and students on behaviour expectations, school values, and related topics. Positive Behaviour Management: Implement positive behaviour language based on Christian World View principles that promote self-discipline and responsibility. Support teachers and students in using positive behaviour language in daily interactions. Corrective Behaviour Management: Manage behaviour cards and suspensions in line with school policies. Analyse student data to identify areas for improvement and suggest targeted interventions. Work with staff, students, and parents to develop individualised behaviour plans for students requiring additional support. Communicate with parents about their child's behaviour, including suspensions, and offer support as needed. Record all actions and outcomes on a daily basis. Work closely with the leadership team, staff, parents, and community partners to promote positive behaviour and enhance the school's culture. Regularly communicate with staff, students, and parents about behaviour expectations and consequences. Attend meetings and professional development sessions to stay current with best practices in behaviour management. Additional Responsibilities: Maintain regular communication with students, parents, and caregivers regarding student progress and wellbeing. Plan, prepare, and deliver teaching and learning programs aligned with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. Demonstrate professional standards that align with your salary level. Adhere to QCAA standards and meet deadlines for planning, assessment, and reporting. Create supportive learning environments and promote effective behaviour management practices. Provide for the holistic development of students, including their spiritual, cognitive, physical, social, cultural, and emotional needs. Ensure the safety of students and promote their development toward effective citizenship through participation in school activities. Assess students using diagnostic, formative, and summative methods and report on their performance. Provide pastoral care to a small group of students (Home Group) and maintain close contact with these students' parents and caregivers. Maintain cleanliness and order in teaching and office areas. Follow directions from the Leadership Team regarding compliance and practice. Perform other duties as requested by the Principal or delegate. About You: Passionate about promoting Christian values in a school setting. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, parents, and community partners. Commitment to creating a positive and inclusive school culture. Adaptable and willing to take on new challenges as directed by school leadership. Qualifications: Relevant teaching qualifications as per the Educational Services (Teachers) Award 2020. Current registration with the appropriate teaching authority. Experience working in a school setting with a focus on behaviour management, student wellbeing or learning enrichment (preferred).
