The role will usually impact beyond the work area or professional field.
It seeks to gain cooperation of other staff members or members of the school community to achieve specific objectives, such as in school administration, operations or educational programs.Direction on targets and goals is provided but the position will have some degree of latitude in determining how they are achieved.
This latitude will generally be limited by standard procedures and school policy.
Deviation from standard procedures and school policy will require guidance and direction from senior management.The provision of business management responsibilities becomes a feature at range 3.
Management of staff to achieve the expected outcomes is a key responsibility.
Staff management issues will be resolved with minimal reference to senior management, although guidance will be required in more complex cases.
Senior management will be provided with timely reports and advice, although this will generally be confined to matters relating to the immediate work area, service provision or educational program and is unlikely to impact substantially on whole of school operations.This is the minimum range for positions that carry a mandatory qualification requirement of not less than four years.
Professional student support positions become a feature at range 3 (e.g.
therapists, psychologists) where standard professional services are delivered.
Professional support and guidance will be close at hand and deviation from standard procedures and school policy will require guidance and direction from senior management.An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor.
Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee's position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.ResponsibilitiesProviding case management support to at risk and vulnerable students and their familiesAttending, monitoring and reviewing care team meetings and student support group meetingsCompleting appropriate safety planning for studentsCompleting external referrals where appropriate and liaising with externals services on a regular basis to maintain strong partnershipsRegular consultations with our SSSO and Leadership teamSupport and professional development to staff around wellbeing and early interventionSupporting teachers and leadership in the design of units of work and learning for students around wellbeing and our values of resilience, gratitude, honesty, respect and empathy.Who May ApplyIndividuals with the aptitude, experience and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.EEO AND OHS CommitmentApplicants seeking part-time employment are encouraged to apply for any teaching service position and, if they are the successful candidate, request a reduced time fraction.

Established in 1950, the school has a rich history and growing enrolment trends.
Currently the school has 496 students enrolled.The school enjoys a reputation for leading the way with modern teaching methods and resources, including the more than 420 iPads to enable a one-to-one program for students in years one to six.Our school is situated on approximately 2.5 acres (1 hectare) of land, comprising of grassed areas, concrete basketball/netball courts, and landscaped garden areas.
Between 2008 and 2010 the school underwent significant renovations, resulting in well-appointed facilities.
At present, the school consists of 22 classrooms as well as an art room, library, music room, science room, hall (with adjoining kitchen) and office block.Our school is led by a Principal and two Assistant Principals and employs 30 full-time equivalent teaching staff.
Ongoing professional development is supported by the engagement of external consultants, access to professional resources and tools, and regular time for staff to learn with and from one another through collaborative planning.
A strong focus on literacy and numeracy skills drives curriculum planning, in addition to an emphasis on ensuring all students feel safe and happy at school.
Curriculum presentation consists of a combination of direct instruction and learning through inquiry.Specialist classes are offered in Art, Music, Physical Education, Science and AUSLAN.
A range of elective programs offered during the lunch hour include percussion groups, choirs, Friendship Group and Peer Activity Leaders.
The school also has a School Representative Council as a means of stimulating student voice.Our values of respect and tolerance are at the core of all of our dealings with each other and the wider community.
