How You Can Play a Part The Club are currently seeking Student Support Officers across the following locations:
Wavell - 5 daysToowoomba - 5 daysWoodridge - 5 daysLoganlea - 2 to 5 daysCleveland - 2 to 5 daysThe purpose of the Student Support Officer is to provide mentoring and support services to our First Nations students in years 7-12 through the successful delivery of our Beyond the Broncos Program.
This program focuses on engagement, retention and academic progress through:
Providing culturally safe mentoring and strengths-based support to participantsWorking collaboratively with key stakeholders including school staff, parents, carers, indigenous community, NGOs and government agenciesUpdating and maintaining student profiles and recordsProviding students with career pathway support including mentoring, work experience, industry engagement, info sessions, self-awareness, etc.Implementing, monitoring and reviewing attendance, behaviour, effort, retention and attainment strategiesOther ad hoc tasks as requiredTo be considered To be considered for this opportunity you will have:
Previous experience working with First Nations young people and an understanding of local community groupsA relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in Education, Youth or Community ServiceStrong communication and interpersonal skillsComprehensive administration and reporting skillsA strong sense of respect for confidentiality involving participants and team membersNote: All applicants must hold a current Drivers License, Blue Card and/or WWCC to be considered.
