This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025. Hedland Senior High School (SHS), located in the Pilbara, is an Independent Public School catering for students from Years 7 to 12. The Role Hedland SHS is seeking to appoint an organised, dedicated, highly competent and enthusiastic Support Officer – Big Picture Learning (BPL) to join their friendly team.
As the BPL Support Officer you will assist in operation of the Big Picture Academy's Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Workplace Learning (WPL) programs. The successful applicant will also contribute to the development and introduction of systems and strategies that provide a responsive and effective support service in relation to the Big Picture Academy's VET/WPL Program.
You will also be involved in the selection and induction of students into the program and evaluating data to provide relevant reports, as well as preparing correspondence, documentation and presentations for the overall program. An additional key aspect to this role is to contribute to the development and implementation of incursion and excursion programs.
The successful applicant should possess well-developed communication skills in order to establish and maintain effective relationships while liaising with a wide range of stakeholders including school personnel, Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), industry, parents and students. You will ideally exhibit strong interpersonal skills as the role also involves conducting site checks and meetings with prospective employers and participating in meetings between the school, other schools and RTOs, as required. The ability to work well both autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment will be highly advantageous, as would a knowledge of Compass school procedures/policies.
The successful applicant will ideally possess the following:
Knowledge of Vocational Education and Training and Workplace Learning programs and the ability to facilitate school/industry partnerships.Well-developed keyboarding and computer skills, including a working knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and word processing.Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment.Want to know more?
