Your new career
This is an exciting opportunity for a student planner to gain experience in our Statutory Planning Team.
The Surf Coast Planning Scheme is diverse and responsive to the variety of land uses that the Shire has to offer. Working in a flexible arrangement around your studies, you will gain experience in dealing with and assisting statutory planners with a range of planning applications and approvals. You will also have a customer-focused approach to assist the community with general planning enquiries through front counter and telephone service.
What you will bring to the role
We are currently looking for a student planner with a drive to actively learn and participate in the statutory planning system at the Surf Coast Shire.
To be successful in this role you will have:

Key selection criteriaMandatory qualifications, experience and requirements

Currently enrolled and studying a tertiary qualification in planning, or related discipline (Note – this is an undergraduate position for currently enrolled students)
Ability to learn new processes and procedures of a local government planning department
Ability to work as an effective team member and contribute to a positive team culture
Ability to provide a customer service focus to the work.
A current Victorian drivers licence
A current Working With Children Check
You have the permanent right to live and work in Australia
Police Check results that are suitable for this position (will be arranged by Surf Coast Shire Council). A complete international criminal history check is required if the person has worked or lived overseas for any period of time OR a complete national criminal history check is required if the person has only ever worked in Australia.
