Your new careerThis is an exciting opportunity for a student planner to gain experience in our Statutory Planning Team.
The Surf Coast Planning Scheme is diverse and responsive to the variety of land uses that the Shire has to offer.
Working in a flexible arrangement around your studies, you will gain experience in dealing with and assisting statutory planners with a range of planning applications and approvals.
You will also have a customer-focused approach to assist the community with general planning enquiries through front counter and telephone service.
What you will bring to the roleWe are currently looking for a student planner with a drive to actively learn and participate in the statutory planning system at the Surf Coast Shire.

Mandatory qualifications, experience and requirementsCurrently enrolled and studying a tertiary qualification in planning or a related discipline (Note – this is an undergraduate position for currently enrolled students)Ability to learn new processes and procedures of a local government planning departmentAbility to work as an effective team member and contribute to a positive team cultureAbility to provide a customer service focus to the workA current Working With Children CheckYou have the permanent right to live and work in AustraliaPolice Check results that are suitable for this position (will be arranged by Surf Coast Shire Council).
