The multi-disciplinary Student Health, Counselling and Wellbeing team are an open and welcoming group, passionate about supporting and enhancing Griffith University and its students.
Student Safety and Wellbeing aims to support a safe university environment, providing confidential support for disclosures of concerning, threatening or inappropriate behaviour, as well as providing guidance to staff on matters relating to student safety and wellbeing.
Job Description Play a key role in responding to, assessing, and managing reports of behavioural risks and concerns, with a particular focus on sexual assault, sexual harassment and other complex mental illness or problem behaviours.
Contribute to the positive development and evaluation of related policies, procedures and organisational practices, and provide secretarial and project support including research and report writing, development of resources and other tasks as required.
As a central point of contact for staff and students at the University: Provide consistency in assessments when addressing persons of concerns and person-centred impact assessments and support for the victim-survivors of concerning and complex students' behaviours; Undertake assessment and case coordination that aligns with standard behavioural risk assessment and threat management tools and frameworks; Refer and liaise with appropriate stakeholders; Support staff in ensuring early detection and de-escalation strategies within the University community.
About you Reporting to the Manager, Student Safety and Wellbeing, you will have: Demonstrated ability in providing guidance on managing behavioural concerns, conflicts and conduct with an emphasis on early intervention, de-escalation and appropriate referrals.
Proven expertise in case coordination and risk assessment, providing trauma-informed responses to a diversity of incidents.
Extensive experience in developing and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen referral pathways.
Commitment to compliance and professionalism, with a solid understanding of relevant legislation and university policies.
You will also have: A degree or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience particularly in risk-based case assessment, management, and planning; or a combination of relevant experience and/or education/training in the field of behavioural risk assessment.
For all applicants: registration, or eligibility for registration to your specific professional body; For Social Work applicants: accreditation as a Mental Health Social Worker by the Australian Association of Social Workers, or progression towards accreditation; For Psychology applicants: registration as a psychologist with AHPRA For other disciplines: eligibility or registration with the relevant regulatory authority What we can offer This is a Continuing, full- time position and will be primarily based at the Griffith University Gold Coast campus.
There is an option to work from home 1 day per week.
As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.
Salary Range The full time equivalent base salary will be HEW 8 range $110,939 - $124,803per annum + 17% superannuation.
The total FTE package will be in the range $129,799 - $146,020 per annum.
