Student Retention Officer  Student Experience   Continuing, full-time  $75,439 to $86,992 per annum (HEO5)   Plus 17% employer superannuation  Salary packaging options are available  5 weeks annual leave plus Christmas week shutdown, per annum  Armidale based role Applicants must have appropriate Australian work rights for the duration of this position (UNE will not provide sponsorship for this position)  Acknowledgement of Country  The University of New England (UNE) is a regionally based, globally networked university renowned for the quality of its student experience and the excellence of its research specialisations.

About the role  As the Student Retention Officer, your role involves proactively engaging with specific student groups to deliver targeted and effective support.
You will facilitate students' access to both administrative and academic support services, while also coordinating with health and wellness resources when needed.
The primary goal is to ensure that each eligible student successfully completes their academic journey with comprehensive, tailored assistance.
About you  To be successful in this role, you will have:  A relevant qualification coupled with appropriate experience, or extensive experience and specialist expertise in supporting people with diverse needs.
Demonstrated excellent Administrative and time management skills with aptitude and capacity to learn software packages, data bases and systems relevant to student support.
Demonstrated ability to relate well to colleagues and students from diverse and often disadvantaged backgrounds   About the Pillar  Staff within the Student Journey portfolio work in close partnership with colleagues across the University, including faculty staff, to ensure a cohesive, high-quality student experience.
Additionally, they collaborate with students to encourage student agency, support co-contribution, and create an inclusive, supportive environment where students actively participate in shaping their university experience.
