About the role: Be involved in the administration and assessment of town planning applications, providing advice to community members relating to their statutory planning matters .
Connect with a range of stakeholders and provide support to the Development Planning and the Customer Service Units.
Be supported by an inclusive and welcoming team.
Banyule will support students who can use this opportunity as a work-based learning opportunity, as part of their degree.

About the team: The Development Planning Team align urban planning policy with urban planning delivery and incorporates subdivision and planning enforcement.
The Team contributes to Councils goals in building a well-planned, sustainable and liveable place that caters for all current and emerging communities, where our local character and environment is protected and enhanced.
We are looking for a team player who shares our commitment to shaping positive outcomes for the community.
Banyule's Development Planning Team has a long history of supporting students to launch their careers in planning and is committed to creating a place where students can learn and grow!
What you will bring: Currently enrolled and completing the final year of a tertiary planning degree or similar in 2025.
Some knowledge of general planning and development issues.
Commitment to customer service and strong communication skills.
Problem-solving skills to assess situations and identify appropriate solutions.
Ability to effectively manage and prioritise tasks, deadlines, and schedules.
