About the Role
As a current university student or recent graduate, you will be in a position to participate in the numerous projects currently underway at Council. As one of the fastest growing areas in NSW, this is one of the most exciting periods to be working in Local Government.
As a planner, you will rotate through the Development Assessment and Strategic Planning team, getting a full understanding of what is involved in assessing Development Applications and creating the framework and strategic intent of Council in the Strategic Planning.
Key Accountabilities:
Assist in assessing, reviewing and reporting on Development Applications, Planning Proposals, State Significant Development Applications, and planning policies in a timely manner to comply with legislation and statutory planning obligations.
Undertake research to assist with review and decision-making regarding Development Application assessments and informing recommendations on Planning Proposal assessments.
Participate in pre-Development Application and Scoping Proposal meetings as appropriate.
Attend Council and Planning Panel meetings to present and respond to enquiries regarding Development Applications and Planning Proposals.
Participate in stakeholder engagement activities to understand and meet the needs of the local community, government agencies and other key stakeholders.
About you
We are looking for someone who is a:
Current undergraduate student who has completed a minimum of 2 years of your Urban & Regional Planning degree (or relevant field), including students who will complete their degree this year (2024).

Salary Range: From $61,036.41 - $68,360.57 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation
