Full time, permanent role in an all-boys Independent Catholic secondary school in TownsvilleQualifications as a registered psychologist or social worker required and ability to be a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or accredited member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).About the roleThis position works collaboratively within the College Wellbeing team to support the educational, personal, social and mental health needs of all students and families through the provision of a comprehensive counselling and consultancy service.About the contractThe position is permanent, full time.The Student Counsellor is not required to attend for work during the school holiday period, however it is agreed that the role may require availability for meetings before and after school, including some evening work, in the event of critical incidents on weekends and during school holiday periods.Counsellors will be entitled to annual leave on the same basis as teachers in accordance with Agreement.To avoid doubt, Counsellors will not access annual leave during the school term.About youTo be considered for this role you will need:Registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or accredited member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).Possess a current Queensland Working with Children Blue Card for paid employees before commencement as per the No Card, No Start policy developed by Queensland Government.
