Fulltime Ongoing position Located in Sydney with flexible working arrangements available Clerk Grade 5/6 with salary ranging from $93,295 to $102,941 + super About the roleThe Student Support and Specialist Program Directorate is looking for a Student Advisor - Compliance who provides advice and support for enrolled international students, schools, agents, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with legislative requirements. This role has varied responsibilities which includes assessing and reviewing student requests and liaising with schools to resolve sensitive and complex issues related to the enrolment, monitoring and reporting of international students. About you We are looking for someone who is a strong communicator, preferably bilingual, who can communicate with a wide variety of audiences and be able to deal with competing priorities and challenging stakeholders. We are also looking for people with: An understanding of the ESOS Act and the National Code is highly favourable Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely with other team members as well as to build positive relationships with their school network Ability to manage high volume caseloads and demonstrated experience with servicing stakeholders from a variety of cultural backgrounds Sound knowledge of MS Office and student management systems Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people. Essential requirements of the role Hold a valid clearence to work with Children (Working with Children Check) for paid employment. Ability to travel to schools across the state. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the values of public education. Key knowledge and experience Knowledge of the ESOS Act and the National Code. Demonstrated knowledge and experience of the management of international students. Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
