Due to an increase in projects in our Water Utilities team, we're seeking a Structural Engineer with demonstrated experience in water retaining structures to join us and contribute structural engineering expertise to critical water infrastructure projects. About the role:
As a Structural Engineer at WSP's Water Utilities team, you'll have the opportunity to play a key part in developing innovative, cutting-edge water retaining structures for major water infrastructure programs around Australia.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
Provide technical quality input for water/wastewater infrastructure design projects. Oversee structural design from concept to detailed stages ensuring high technical standards. Develop designs across multiple projects or program work packages, and assist with project and design management. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on large-scale infrastructure projects. About You:
You have a background in structural engineering with a focus on water retaining structures (e.g., dams, reservoirs, tanks, wastewater treatment plants, etc.). You enjoy engaging with clients and creating innovative solutions, and you can write reports that are clear and logical. You also enjoy sharing your structural engineering expertise through collaborating closely with team members.
You will have:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural engineering or equivalent. Proven local design experience, ideally in a consultancy environment. Chartered Engineer or actively working towards chartered status. Experience in detailed design of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, with specific experience in pipeline, pump station design and treatment plants. Experience working on water retaining structures projects preferred. Experience in Design and Construction projects would be advantageous. Good knowledge of relevant industry-related Australian Standards and WSAA codes would be advantageous. Understanding of related safety in design practices and processes.
