JMG are looking for Structural Engineer to join our Civil/Structural Group in our Launceston office. At JMG we value our people and strive to provide a fun and inclusive culture where everyone enjoys coming to work!Playing an integral part in the Structural team, you will work within our dynamic Civil/Structural Group to ensure the effective delivery of industry leading Structural projects for some of Tasmania's most prominent and exciting developments.Our Opportunity as a Structural Engineer includes the following responsibilities:You will take an active role in coordinating and working with teams in the delivery of Structural projects within agreed budgets and time frames and may also assist in preparation of fee submissions and strategic client liaison.You will work independently and with teams of professionals drawing support from senior civil, structural, hydraulic engineers and designers within the office for single and multidiscipline projects.Participate in all project phases, from feasibility and concept design to detailed design and construction phase administration.An opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects involving reinforced, post tensioned and precast concrete, masonry, steel and timber structures.Exposure to private and public projects in the areas of health, education, industrial, municipal, commercial, civil infrastructure, marine and residential projects.Work as part of a diverse structural team including mentoring of junior engineers & design staff.Continuously improving your skills through training.Opportunities to further develop client relationships and to seek out potential new clients.To be the successful candidate in this role you will possess the following:Minimum of 5 years post graduate experience and currently hold or be eligible for CPEng with Engineer's Australia.Experience in the design of commercial concrete and steel single and multi-storey structures.Post tension experience in multi storey buildings.Solid understanding of relevant Australian Standards, Codes of Practice and the building approval process.Experience in the application of AS1170.4 Earthquake loadings to design solutions.Previous experience in the use of ETABS and or SpaceGas.Experience working in a consulting engineering firm or be able to demonstrate an understanding of a consulting businesses operations.Demonstrated ability to liaise with clients, architects, building surveyors, contractors and councils.Ability to write clear and concise reports and specifications.The finer details:An attractive salary package in the range of $100,000 - $125,000 (plus super) commensurate with experience, as well as relocation assistance if not already based in Tasmania.Plus, a host of other benefits including: participation in the company's profit sharing scheme, flexible working options, a driven professional development and training program, an energetic team atmosphere and an outstanding company culture.We would love to hear from you!
