Our client has an 80-year history and is now Australia's leading full-service designer and manufacturer of switchrooms for the building services industry.
They are seeking a degree-qualified Civil / Structural Engineer to join their team in Adelaide.
This role offers a unique opportunity for a structural engineer passionate about steel structure design to be part of a cross-functional engineering team designing and delivering products at the highest standards to their customers.
Position Overview: In this role, you will report to the Lead Structural Engineer and work closely with the Switchroom Design, Engineering, and Project Management teams.
While this description highlights core responsibilities, the position allows for growth as project demands evolve.
Key Responsibilities: Develop structural designs specifically for steel switchroom structures, including preparation of engineering calculations and sketches.Collaborate with engineering and design teams to improve efficiencies in modular design, materials usage, and construction methods.Review, check, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards (AS-NZS 1170 / AS 4100).Support the Engineering team with construction and production coordination, as well as review fabrication drawings in line with general arrangements.Resolve client feedback by updating designs as needed, and contribute to the creation of rigging arrangement designs.Core Requirements: Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with postgraduate qualifications in structural engineering highly valued.Experience: Around 5 years post-graduation in structural design engineering with a focus on steel in designs governed by Australian Standards.Skills: 3D modeling skills (SolidWorks, Tekla, Revit), understanding of document control.Key Competencies: Strong attention to construction details and results orientation.Ability to interact cooperatively and communicate professionally.Experience with drafting standards, material ordering, and subcontractor coordination (desirable).Why Join: This role offers career growth within an inclusive and supportive work environment, encouraging skill development and excellence in structural engineering.
